Nairobi National Park is a park in Kenya within the city. It was established in 1946 and is about 7 kms south of Nairobi. It is fenced on three sides, whereas the open southern boundary allows migrating wildlife to move between the park and the adjacent Kitengela plains. Herbivores gather in the park during dry season. Despite its proximity to the city and its relatively small size, it boasts a large and varied wildlife population and is one of Kenya’s most successful Rhinocerous sanctuaries.  The park offers an extraordinary blend of wildlife Safari experiences and scenic, breathtaking landscapes where roaming wildlife is framed by skyscrapers on the horizon. Besides wildlife and birdlife, Nairobi National Park is also a vibrant hub for sports, events, and outdoor experiences, welcoming families, couples, and organized groups for game drives, nature walks, fitness activities and recreational outings. It’s renowned for hosting over 100 mammal and 400 bird species, notably sheltering the critically endangered black and white rhino, lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalos, giraffes, zebras and hippos. It notably houses all the Big Five except the elephant.
